What is the Distance Learning Programme?
This training programme is designed to equip caregivers with the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to develop their own therapeutic music programme for young children with disabilities.
The 12-month programme comprises a series of Online Tutorials, Written Assignments, one face to face Intensive Study Weekend, and a supervised Practical Assignment.
Who should apply?
This course is relevant to practitioners who work directly and regularly (at least weekly) with children who have learning or social difficulties under the age of 10 years.
Suitable profiles include:
- Combined Arts Practitioners
- Educators and Teachers
- Psychologists and Speech Therapists
- Activity Leaders
- Musicians
- Any other practitioner working directly with these children on a weekly basis
Note that spaces are limited to a maximum of 2 participants from the same workplace.

How much is the course?
The course fees are as follows
- 200 Euros for people who want the 50 credits from the College for Psychologists
- 150 Euros for people who don’t need the credits
We want this course to be accessible to all people interested. Financial support is available to people who will have difficulty paying the course fees. You will have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship within your application.

Applicants are encouraged to ask their employers if they are able to help them meet the fees of the course. After all, your new skills will strengthen the work you do and the support offered to the children through their organisation.
If this is not sufficient, there are options to pay your fees in two instalments or to pay what you (or your setting) can afford and request a scholarship to meet the balance owed. You can explain your requirements when you complete your application.
The course fee is payable on acceptance of a course place and is non-refundable if the participant is unable to start or complete the course for any reason.
